Deodorant was one of the VERY first things I switched when moving to a healthier, nontoxic routine. It didn’t take me long once I learned about the dangerous side effects of aluminum and anti-perspirants to ditch all my drugstore brands – and I had quite a few. See, I had tried them all and since not a single one worked consistently, I changed them around a lot. It was a frustrating cycle – and even more so looking back since I had no idea that there was a MUCH healthier, effective and cheaper solution.
Since we’re heading out of town for Layla’s actual birthday and the weekend immediately following, we decided to do an early celebration in San Diego and invite some close friends. Because the party fell almost two weeks before Layla’s actual birthday, I’ve had more time to wrap my head around the fact that she’s ACTUALLY turning one. I can’t tell you how hard it is for me to believe!
I’m loving any product that comes in a spray bottle lately. Well, as long as the ingredients are clean and effective of course. All about convenience here. With a newborn attached to me at all times, fast and easy is what I need. Here is a quick rundown of my favorite nontoxic beauty spray products, all of which I use daily!
We celebrated Ellie’s first and second birthdays at the house with some fun themes (a lemonade stand and “two-two” party). This year, with a new baby sister at home, we thought getting OUT of the house would be a better bet. For her third birthday celebration, we had a fun “birthday at the bay” party. Mission Bay in San Diego is our “happy place” and so we thought it would be perfect to share with friends and family for Ellie’s special day.
We love to snack around here. Whether we’re on the go or at home, we like to have healthy snacks that are easy, accessible and satisfying.
This day came sooner than I planned. But if I’m being fair, I guess I’m rarely ready for Ellie to grow up. She already seems so ahead of the game, communicating beyond her years, understanding more than a 2-year-old should, being so in tune with herself and her surroundings. It’s freaky sometimes – but its obvious she’s ready for this next step, even if I’m not: PRESCHOOL.
I had to invite Ellie in on this review since this is a natural product all for her. She’s a typical two-year-old who wants to do everything Mama does, but all by herself.
I’m not about to hand over my nail polish (even if it is 5- or 10-free polish!!) but I happily provided her with Kidlicks’ organic edible nail polish for her to go to town with. All by herself.
